1982 25hp Mercury electric start - thoughts?

Hi,
Looking for some input on buying a 1982 25hp Mercury electric start, tiller, short shaft. I currently have a 1977 15hp Evinrude electric start on my 14' Lund and am looking for some more horsepower. I know the older Evinrude I have is a great little motor and I know parts are readily available for older Evinrudes, but wasn't sure if it is the same for older Mercury motors? Also, anything specific to look at with these older Mercury motors, common issues? It has a new impeller, the carb cleaned and lower unit lube changed and I would be able to tank/muff test it prior to purchase.

You are looking at buying a 31 year oldie, it could be in mint condition, but how about future spare parts needs ? If important parts are difficult to buy or NLA, stay away, unless you like searching used parts at salvage yards including buying that horse real cheap.
