leave transom saver on during storage?

i put my rig in the garage between trips and am wondering if is ok to leave the transom saver hooked up or should i remove it and drop the engine all the way down? any opinions welcomed

Personally I would remove the transom saver and lower the engine. Appreciating that you are South of the really cold weather, with the engine lowered you are assured that all water has drained and no chance of freeze damage.

If your garage is NOT heated and if your part of Georgia does get any freezing weather, then you must remove the transom saver to drain any residual water. If the temperature in the garage never gets to freezing, then no, there is no necessity--if you have the room.

technically, once you have lowered it once and drained it you can put it back up--as long as it's inside where rain water won't get in the LU through the prop. Lowered gives you more room and doesn't stress the hydraulics on the PTT (which is why you have that metal latch).
