Nissan 70 HP OB Carb Gas Leak

After sitting for about a year, I started up my 1989 Nissan 70 HP OB motor, and watched gas pump pretty steadily out of the front of the lower carb mouth. Engine seemed to run OK, though maybe a little rough. I attribute to old gas and sitting for some time.<br /><br />I am guessing at a stuck float. <br /><br />Any other ideas, or best method to unstick?<br /><br />Tim

drain the bowl, get you a catch pan underneath, disconnect line comming into carb and shoot omc engine tuner or carb cleaner down into it. if it backs up on you its stuck in the closed position (not likely). whatever you do id let it sit up for a few hours then flush it with more junk. carb clearner works, but i really like that engine tuner, it will really burn if you get it in a cut!!

Thanks, Greg. I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Will "regular" carb cleaner work, like GUNK, Marvel, or similar? Am I shooting directly into mouth of carb, or into bowl drain plug?<br /><br />Tim
