Mercury Paint

Going to buy alittle Merc. motor(3.3hp) 2001 and it needs a paint job(black) is there factory-made paint for this motor at any Merc. dealer that i can get?

Yes, there is 'factory' paint, 'Mercury Phanton Black', I believe.

However, you can use just about any decent gloss black enamel paint. It is nothing overly special about the Mercury paint, but maybe the price.

Rustoleum gloss black is a much better paint than the Merc paint.

Yesss on Phantom Black and it is a Lacquer and if kept out of the sun and from abraisions, if applied correctly, will live longer than you will. I still have a can I bought for my '89 tower of power and still use it.
