Newbie Question/ How to identify the year of an Evinrude outboard gas tank

Hello everyone,

I have been searching through the forum in an attempt to find out how to identify the year on a 50s Evinrude outboard gas tank. (pressurized) I have seen several decals (at least 3 styles) for the 50s and 60s but I don't know if this is a factor in identification.

I have recently started fishing again with my Father and I would like to learn more about these older boats and motors.

Any help would be great,

there have been several styles and sizes of pressure tanks since they first came out.

Post a picture showing the top and the sides and we can try to narrow it down for you.

go to nymarine.ca. look in the decal section, it should narrow it down as close as you can get.

Thank you for the quick response. I'm looking forward to learning more about these older motors and tanks.

This is a great forum and it's a pleasure to be here. I'm also looking forward to finding the right tank for my outboard.
