the shifter and throttle cables for this control box do not have the fittings installed. There is just a tube and wire on the engine end. A non standard replacement box is on the engine and does have the end fittings to hook up. How do I remove these fittings and reattach them to the original box cable ends? Thanks!

Re: Control Cable end replacement

When I state "A non standard replacement box is on the engine" I mean that I have a non standard control box mounted on the boat and hooked up to the engine. FYI I want to put the original back on because the replacement box doesnt allow choke operation from the console. Sorry for the confusion.

Hey SCO,
If I understand your posting, you want to replace a Brand X control with the original OMC control. If this is fact, you may need to replace the throttle and shift cables with OMC cables. I'm not sure about yours, but I installed a second throttle cable (Hot Foot) on my '76 and had to use an OMC cable.

c/6

Hooty
