1980 johnson stinger 75 hp

hi there,

I am about to purchase a boat wwith a 1980 johnson stinger 75 hp, I know these motors are made for performance, will it troll for down rigger fishing for long periods of time at 1-3 miles/hour????? or does it not have the right torque

Not sure how well they troll, but you could always swap out the prop for one with very low pitch to bring the revs up a little.

I've got the exact same motor on my boat and it idles just fine. I don't troll, but I do explore some back bays and such where I idle for an hour or two at a time. Never had a problem...
