The previous pontoon boat owner has a hillbilly bracket for the steering cable to attach too. The transom bracket has the shaft tube where you can slide the end of the cable through and screw it too the shaft then what length steering bar/rod do I need? I see alot of Yamaha/Evinrude/Johnson/Mercs and universal type rods is the length specific due to turn radius or can any "S" bar work????

thx

Most of the bars will work, but some need a little modification. Some will hit the lower pan when the engine is tilted and you may need a longer screw and a spacer underneath the pan nose.
