I considering making a trade with a guy (not for the engine on my boat but one I have on a stand)

I currently have a 50hp Johnson (1987) and am considering a 50hp Mariner (1988)

Other than swapping the controls should I have any mounting issues with the transom hole locations? Or is the bolt hole pattern identical on most of these engines?

Thanks, I had thought the mounting pattern was standardized some time back but wasn't sure. Don't want to be filling and drilliing anymore holes!

If I am not mistaken, nearly all outboard manufactures went to the standard B.I.A. bolt pattern somewhere between 1984 and 1986. The big exemption to this was all the Pre-Mercury Force outboards
