I submitted an earlier post about gas leaking from my bottom carb when the motor is tilted up. I Got a response that this is normal but I am not talking about a little gas and why would the other two not leak? I assumed it would be some kind of stuck bowl check valve or something that would be causing this problem as it did not leak when I first purchased my boat. This problem started this summer and while I was servicing the enginne I thought I would try to fix it since it leaks through the cowling and stains my deck every time I tilt the motor up. Please help with any suggestions.

Re: Gas leaking from carb

Sounds like your needle valve. One thing to try, depending on how new the motor is, is to take some QUICKSILVER POWER TUNE and spray into your drain orifice on your carb, that is if you can get to it without removing the carb. It has been my experience that doing this will clear away any obstructions around the needle valve.
