Commercial outboard Johnson or not?

I have a 1993 Johnson V6 150HP Silver Star Series outboard. After researching replacement props I found that a lot of V6 and V8 engines were lumped together along with commercial engines. It seems the only difference may be the gear case size. Is there any way to tell if my outboard is a commercial model using the serial and model numbers? What is the difference between a commercial and non-commercial engine?
Mod: J150ELETR Ser: G03175782.
Thank You for any input.

Re: Commercial outboard Johnson or not?

1993 Commercial 150 = 150WTALV or 150WTPLV or 150WTPXV. Not sure if there is a J in front or not. The commercial models routinely have a W in the model number. As far as I know, all V-6 and V-8 gearcases are the same size whether commercial or not. Some V-4s have V-6 gearcases. I suppose most V-4 commercial models do, but larger 120 to 140 V-4 models may have either depending on the year. They had small gearcases in the 70s but seem to have larger gearcases starting sometime in the 80s. Under 120 models with large gearcases would almost certainly be commercial models.
