Going to sell said outboard. What are these things worth? I am going to list on Craigslist and/or eBay. Also, any suggestions where else to advertise?

Down here in land of gators you would get $600-700 for it. In the land of beer and cheese, you would get about $400

Did a NADA search and low retail is $325...average retail is $400. Since use of 2 stroke here in CA is an ocean use only, I am thinking closer to $300.

Would you mind doing a compression test before you sell it and post results here? I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my 98 merc 4 hp and could use that info. Thanks! How's it run?

It runs great. I will do the compression test. Any idea what it's supposed to be?

This is the second way of selling something on iboats that doesn't get flagged. The other way is to do a build thread then list all the parts you want to sell and links to CL items

When you say 2 strokes for salt only do you mean all or just carbed?

Tohatsu same HP ones if happens it's a rebadged one should have 78-80 PSI max after 5-6 vigorous rope pulls with carb's butterfly opened fully. Check if in that range or more. Sometimes Service Manuals have misprints. My 2 strokes 18 HP was max 106 PSI rated and read 120 PSI after the compression test.

Mine had a solid 90psi before I took it apart for a rebuild. I'm sure it was more from the factory. I'll find out after the rebuild i guess.

Up to 15 hp nationwide, the used price for good condition ones is about a $100 a hp. I have had some 25-35 years old 15's that are showroom that went for $1600/1700, one never was even outfitter with a prop...Some 4's showroom condition that went for $550/600
