I was going to look at this trophy and I was wondering about somethings . First is the guys said it has been sitting for awhile 3yrs it has a outboard mercury 200hp . And he said the the cable link was frozen and could not put it in gear ? Is the lower end shot. I was going to do compression test to be sure the engine was good and what should a good compression be any thoughts ?

With shift cable disconnected and you cannot get into gear I would look at the lower is toast. This way if it can be freed up great, if not then no biggy

Compression should be even (or within 15% varience) across all 6 cylinders.

Shift cable usually has quick disconnect on the plastic cable clamp. You should be able to push the cable into reverse gear or pull the cable for forward gear
