Is there a repair system besides Hellicoils to repair pulled threads on a crank case ? If so is it an easy fix or need to send crankcase to a machine shop to do the work right ? Please advise.
Good to know that, will check link, seems that one or two head bolts threads on powerhead will be shot dead on next head gasket change due to salt seizure with consequent broken bolt and its heat removal done on last restoration, so planing way ahead of time to have those handy. Will check Amazon. Thanks both.
Timesert kits are nice and costly, but for the non experienced seems bit complicated to install, too much tooling, have worked with Heli Coils before. This is the OEM cylinder head bolt with measurements.
Was wondering if this repair kit would be appropriate to fit most of the 22 mm threaded extension ?
Assume a M10 bolt is a 8.0mm diam bolt as in pic, right ?
1.5 ? stands for inches/centimeters
Please advise..
Would you say that the posted bolt pic corresponds to a fine or coarse thread ? 1.5 stands for 1.5 cm or 15 mm Heli Coils, what if too short to properly screw in a 22 mm bolt thread ? Will bolt be possible to torque it right to 30 NM cyl head specs ?
