Hello all,
I just bought a 1980's Peterborough Bowrider with a 75HP Chrysler outboard motor. It runs fantastically. However, I am trailering the boat and am quite unfamiliar with manual tilt/trim motors. When I put the motor back down when I'm in the water and put the stainless steel pin in one of the holes to keep the motor from going all the way down, it will hold it up no problem. However, when I go into reverse the engine tried to fly up out of the water.
Is there a way to lock it for when it's in reverse or did I just rev a little too high? If I keep my throttle low in reverse will I be fine? Sorry I'm new to this!
