Bass Tracker Pro 17 motor size

I have a 2007 Pro 17 with a 9.9 Mercury I'm looking to put something bigger on it, thinking either a 50 or 60 hp Just looking for any advice anyone might have or experiences they have had with a similar setup. I plan on keeping the 9.9 on as a kicker, we do like to fish some small lakes.

I have a friend that has one and he,s running a 50 mercury 4 stroke.Runs and handles really well.

What's the max HP & N?of passengers transom rated for ?

Max HP transom rated it's for max N? of passengers. If will be boating with much less passengers don't need to go for full HP.

it is rated for 90 hp and 4 passengers

You can always go for a prop maximization to a less pitch prop for OB to run middle to max wot revs if going for a less HP-OB, say a 60 HP. Will not run at the max speed of a 90, but will definitely take you there at a nice cruising speed.
