Jack plate on nitro 640lx

I'm in the process of installing new a steering cable , So there's no better time than the present . I'm looking at the manual cmc 5 1/2" setback. Motor is 98 force 75hp. Does anyone have a 640 that they have installed a jackplate on? If so, Any problems with length or binding with cables/ wiring etc? Iv always had minor problems with porpoising and list and thought maybe some of that could be tuned out with a jack plate .
