Hard to find decent gas in my area without driving 25 miles out of the way. Would a octane booster help in my 90 HP outboard?

If your outboard was designed to run on Regular fuel, an octane booster does nothing. Adding an octane booster to fuel does nothing to increase power. It's only purpose in life is to prevent engine knock.

There are a few motor that recommend using premium fuel, but those are new fuel injected motors, the 99.9999999% of the rest are designed to run on regular 87, using a higher octane fuel in one is of no value. Plus, many of the "octane boosters" don't do much, and can create problems.

The only time octane booster is needed is if you raise the compression ratio and/or advance the timing.
