I recently purchased a 1960 60 horse flying Scott I haven't been able to find any info on what mix ratio to use. The previous owner was running at 20:1. That seems a little rich to my judgment. Any help is appreciated.

For 1960 - 62 engines 3/8 pint of oil per gallon of gas, that's basically 20:1. Engines before 1960 were 1/2 pint oil per gallon of gas

24:1 will be fine for that motor. I would also replace the water pump impeller. If you want one I can PM you info of a guy who makes them.

I just looked in my service manual for that motor and you can put 16 oz of oil to 5 gallons of gas. So you could go to 32:1 and be safe
