Went through all the fuel feed lines on my (new to me) model year 2000 boat, to make sure everything was up to snuff:
1) Fuel line from tank to water separating filter (below deck) is Shields SAE J1527-A1, OK.
2) Fuel line from separating filter to motor (above deck) is Quicksilver (4000?) SAE J1527-B1, OK; and the bulb is a low-perm bulb based on part number lookup.
3) BUT...fuel lines under the cowling (2012 Mercury Optimax 125) is rated J30R9...is that OK? I can't find any references saying it is, only references to SAE J1527 for marine usage.

These fuel lines under the cowling certainly look factory to me. Everything I could find printed on them is:
EPA NAT-LEAPII 5/16" LP100 092612 13:41 SAE J30R9

So is that OK? Are you allowed to use line of this rating under an outboard cowling?

SAE J30R9 is the fuel injection hose standard. Your Opti is safe using it.

SAE J1527-B1 is for fill, vent and feed hoses. In other words, no pressure before a fuel pump.

Safe, sure...but recommended / ABYC or USCG approved / legal / insurance issues (knock on wood)? Again, I could find no reference whatsoever to using J30R9 fuel line anywhere on a boat.
