I re-painted my 34 years old dirty but faithful Johnson 90 hp v4 outboard. So, I figure I share with you what I used to help others who maybe interested in restoring their dirty ugly outboard. 4 easy steps no sanding needed.
1. Get Simple Green to clean and degrease the motor. Get rid of the old paint using metal brush as much as you can.
2, Apply 2 layers White color Rustoleum Universal Bonding Primer (12 oz) to spray paint.the motor.
3. Apply 2-3 layers Whitel color High Performance Enamel paint (15 oz)
4. Apply 1-2 layers of Crystal Clear Enamel (12 oz)
No sanding needed.
