Mercruiser 5.0 liter TKS needs dry joint manifolds and risers. This is the 6th season and the engine is running hotter than normal. I've done some research and a search here to get opinions on brands. The Merc OEM stuff is much more expensive ( you get what you pay for ) but I've read that some aftermarket units are actually better. They're heavier which would mean thicker cast iron. It seems that GLM is a brand to stay away from maybe. I know this is a frequently asked question, but I'd like to hear from some of the knowledgeable people here.

Have had a set of Osco's (not dry-joint) on mine for 4 seasons now. Fresh water, occasional short trips in salt. 0 issues. Have had them off at least three times because I insist on tinkering with things that probably don't need tinkering. Couldn't be happier.
