Picked up a prop shaft anode for my Bravo 3 years ago. It came in with a cone nut, hex screw and aluminum anode. Never did install it because after putting the rear prop on I only had 2 to 3 threads left. The new cone nut is not tapered to the degree the original nut is. Looking back the B3 nut has not changed since the B3 was released. So how is tis installed on the rear prop shaft?

The cone nut replaces the original nut . . . even though the taper is different on the cone nut, it works fine. Then the anode and bolt go on the cone nut. I usually set the retaining nuts on my props so that they are snug, but not overly tight.

Thanks, had this thing for years but didn't want to use it because I didn't think it had enough taper, I'll put it on. I do tighten my nuts down I think a bit more. The book says 55 ft lb minimum

I probably do 50+ lbs, but most of that is the nylock binding (I think) verses the prop compressing.
