3.0L "mercruiser" engine with volvo transom plate and drive?

Is it possible? or anyone know what is involved to make it possible? any suggestions would help. I currently have a boat with a 95 Volvo outdrive and transom plate and a motor that has been completely submerged and had water ingestion not really salvageable at this point been searching for a complete 3.0 volvo engine they are not that easy to find compared to a merc 3.0. any input would be great

Hello Matt and :welcome:

Same engine... You use the flywheel housing and the mountings from the Volvo engine, bolt them to the Merc engine, and .... You have a Volvo engine. You'll also need to use the Volvo exhaust manifold....
