First off, Please dont rip my head off, Ive been trying to search and found TONS of threads on the topic but cant find the correct answer im looking as theres so many different versions of this engine and so forth, Ill try to Hopefully give all the info needed for you pro's to help me find my answer.

Heres My question
I have an All Stock 2002 Sea Ray 182 Bow Rider, 4.3L 190HP thunderbolt Ing, Vortec stamped heads & 2 Barrel Carb, bravo one Outdrive

I want to swap the Intake Manifold and carb over to a bigger 4 barrel to pick up some extra HP for tubing/Wakeboard towing, (hear that the intake/carb can get about 40 +/- HP)
so, What intake Manifold do i need? can i get a factory Merc 4bbr "Hi-rise" manifold and use it? like this one here http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCRUISER-..._Accessories_Gear&hash=item2c852816a2&vxp=mtr

or do i need to get on summit and but an AUTO version?

as for the carb, what carb do i need to get?

anyone have the part numbers for what i need?

thank you guys very much

perfect thank you for the fast reply, I only run it in fresh water so the Eldobrock should work fine.
looks like itll almost be just as much as to buy a used EFI conversion kit for the thing.

Hi there, welcome to iboats!:)

The intake in your ebay link is for a non Gen+ engine model as it has the 12 bolt pattern and the Gen+ have 8 bolt holes so it will not work as you should have a Gen+ engine model.

Your later engine model only came with a 2 barrel carb/intake setup but at one point (around 96-97) merc did start using a 4 barrel setup on the V6 Gen+ models and are also still using it on their Remanufactured engine models as well.

For all the OEM part numbers, you can use this next link as a starting guide, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selectSerailRange.asp?doc_nbr=4.3L+(GEN++)+(4BBL)+Reman

Or, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/sele...LXH+(GEN++)+(4+BBL.)+++++GM+262+V-6+1996-1997

Hope this helps, good luck.:)

PS, we'll be moving this topic up to Non-Repair I/O and Inboards Discussions not involving troubles or repair.;)

Yup. My brand spanking new Gen+ Quicksilver reman came through with a faulty 4V carb, so the mechanic bolted the 4V carb from the old engine (a '96 Quicksilver reman) right on. When the new replacement carb came in I swapped it out myself. The two carbs are identical except for the choke- the '96 used a heat tube, the new one is electric. Hope this info is of some value since you're sourcing parts on ebay.

got talking to a few buddies of mine that are big into chevy hot rod performance, (apples to oranges i know thats why im asking here) about an intake/4bbl swap and they said that if i did an "rpm gap" manifoid it would proably help me alot down low to get out of the hole and up on plane for wakeboarding?
wondering what your guys thoughts are on this?

The airgap is not available for the 4.3 you can modify it but you could ruin a good manifold for little benefit , grab some popcorn and have fun.

The 2114 is a sweet little manifold. However, I have found that you should drill some drain holes in the casting for rain/lake water that may drip on top of it. I even deepened a channel next to the dist. hole for the same reason.
