I got a few free gallons of mercury racing synthetic 4 stroke 25w-50 oil and I am wondering if this would be safe to use in my mercruiser 3.0l or should I sell it and just stick with the 25w-40 I've always used? I live in the Florida Keys and summer temps are 90 and above with winter temps 80-85

I've switched to Mobil 1 15w-50. A lot of guys swear by it, because it's a full synthetic, and can currently be had at Walmart for a whopping $23 for a 5qt jug. Add a ToughGuard Fram TG-30 oil filter for another $6, and you just got a full synthetic oil change for under $30. Hard to beat that. :D
