Should I add vents?

I have a mid-engine boat. Engine cover is a back-to-back bench seat. 350ci.

My question is this: Other than the stock ventilation (one in, one out) via the louvers on the side of the boat, would I be OK to add ventilation (vents/maybe even louvers) to the engine cover itself? I just feel like there needs to be more, but I don't know if adding more ventilation will mess with the flow of air created (designed?) via the one in, one out model.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks

I say the more ventilation the better. Might get noisier.

That's what I'm thinking, too. Regarding noise, when the family isn't with me, I flip up the rear-facing bench seat of the engine cover and it isn't too bad at all. I do have a concern about the vents themselves getting hot to the touch. Any thoughts on that?

Depends on where you mount them. With air movement they should not get hot.

There are so many air gaps in a boat /engine compartment that you do NOT need to add more holes in your boat, along with the extra noise that has been mentioned.
