I have been searching the Mercury Marine Catalog for the 140 cylinder head brass expansion plug or plugs. I had no such luck finding them or a part number. I call them, but they referred me to a " Classic Mercury Technical Hotline 920-929-5200" which cost 20.00 per call, maybe worth it though, if I can't find a part number. I have spent a lot of search time ect...

I ordered a kit ( purchased 2 kits, one by mistake ) that was for the 140,
http://bpi.ebasicpower.com/p/FED381-8006 however the kit didn't have the brass plugs that I need for the cylinder head port side.

I took the old plug to several auto parts stores, and no luck, because they couldn't mic it out properly because it is ovaled out. I had a hard time trying to mic it out also.

I would appreciate it, is someone could help out with a part number, or correct site that carries these

thanks for helping me, and others that may be looking for the same part

In the link below maybe you can find what will work. You mentioned that the auto stores couldn't figure it out because it was oblong. I take it you cannot take the head in? If not measure the long and short diameter and estimate about what it should be. Then compare what you measured with the link below. Hope it helps
