Hi, I am in the process of converting my boat from an old Volvo 280 drive to an alpha drive. I have bought a complete donor boat so I have almost everything I need.

Problem being.... I have hydraulic steering (u-flex) with an auto pilot on the project boat and the alpha has power assist of course. Looking at it it says that the hydro cylinder is the same for a volvo 280 and an alpha non-power assisted steering.

But of course once I take the assist unit off the alpha I have no way of mounting the uflex cylinder on the inner transom plate.

Can anybody find me the part I need to mount the cylinder? I have looked and cant find any info on it.

Thanks

Looks like you need a non-power steering, steering tube. Like used on the non-power steering Mercruiser 3.0L...

The part numbers for that below. You will need parts 18 to 22.

Chris.......
