I have a few questions about the steering system. I have an MC-1.

1. Can the alpha units be turned stop to stop with the engine off without causing any problems/leaks/spills with the power steering system?

2. Can the Mercruiser be turned stop to stop with the engine fully up (trailer towing height)?

3. Will there be any problems doing the above with a linkage to a 20 HP or less outboard motor?

#2: Trolling on the outboard with the main up out of the water.

#3: I'll look into this. It's easy to turn with the engine off as is, but adding the outboard to it may make it very hard. I'm trying to think of a good system for adding a kicker.

Thanks! That's the system I was looking at installing. I want to be able to steer with the outdrive up so I can run safer in shallow water. I enjoy beaching the boat in the summer.

With the outdrive up and the kicker down, the angle could be so wrong that it won't work. Just depends on how it's installed.
