I have a 1995 Four Winns with a Volvo Penta SX Cobra outdrive (light gray colour)

I always used OMC Ultra HPF gearcase lube PN508318, yellow oil, but got discontinued. I now have been using Bombardier Evinrude/Johnson Ultra HPF gearcase lube PN 775601. But it seems this is not around now either, or I just have not found some. I was told Evinrude/Johnson Ultra HPF Pro is different?

I believe these oils are synthetic and meet GL 5 standards, but is 75/90 or 80/90 viscosity?

Where can I get Bombardier Evinrude/Johnson Ultra HPF gearcase lube PN 775601?

Thanks for the help

Look at the oil specs, if they say it's a GL5 Synthetic, then you can use it. If it doesn't say it on your oil, don't use it.
Your OMC/Johnson/Evinrude also didn't have a cone clutch in it.

Don S Thanks for the info Just another question if you could please help. Does my outdrive listed above need 75w90 or 80w90 oil. And as long as it says meets GL 5 standards I could get it at an auto parts store or walm*rt as long as it is synthetic.
Thank You Ron3033

Ayuh,.... Generally speakin',... 80W-90 is dino-oil, 'n the 75W-90 is a Syn-oil,...

I personally wouldn't run Anything but Syn-oils in outdrives that call for gear oil...

I run Mobil 1, 75W-90 in my Alpha 1...

API Synthetic GL5 Gear Lube 75W90 is what the manual calls for.

Don sorry to bother you again, on the dock the other day a fellow told me about the COBRA SX out drives (mine is a 1995 with the hump, light gray) about something called Nedox coating and some gear lubes remove it from the parts it is on. ??

I am going to try to find Mobil One 75w90 Synthetic that has GL 5 standard.... Is this okay... if the above nedox coating is an issue?
Any idea where I can get Mobil one any auto supply I assume.

Sorry for all the questions, but I appreciate your help as a pro marine mechanic.
Thanks
