That's a cool feature and super convenient there, well done!:)

If I could ask...

How did ya run the connections on the inside?

You have me thinking about this switch on my rig, cool:cool:

There are two types of harnesses. Take a picture and show your dealer.

Take a picture and show your dealer.

Saying hello to my dealer = $ARM

Asking my dealer to look at something = $LEG

Ordering something from my dealer = $FIRSTBORN

Might help if you scan the instruction sheet and post that too.

Unfortunately I don't believe I kept the instructions. The kit comes with them though and it easy, but there is an older style and a newer style wiring harness.

Looks good. I have always wanted a switch back there... just too chicken to drill a hole.

I believe the kit p/n is as follows...

87-815200a02 - For newer style with 3 pin Packard connector (2003 and newer).

87-815200A1 - For older style with 3 blade connector.

Get a Forstner bit

As I presented in the video it makes a very clean cut. Just triple check on where you want the hole to go.

You almost hit the back-up washer on that grab rail! That would cost another 30 bucks!

Well I broke down and bought a switch kit last night. I'll have to post some pics when I get it installed...

Re: Remote transom mounted trim switch

I did a little more of a covert switch install... that way no one (kids) will be pushing the buttons.

Must agree with Pete, great idea. When I rewired my boat, I simply moved my switch aft. After all, I have to to go aft anyways to check it. That also kept the wiring shorter and simpler.

Re: Remote transom mounted trim switch

I was thinking about doing this. Just out of curiosity, couldn't you just run one end of the switch to the positive terminal on the battery, and run one end of the switch to the blue (down) wire on the motor, and the other to the green (up)? That would work but would bypass the solenoids.
