I am in the market for new exhaust manifolds and elbows.

I have been researching brands, and based on posts on this forum and elsewhere it looks like . . .

GLM - made in china and quality is suspect

Barr and Osco - made in USA and the quality is presumably better than GLM.

What are the opinions of these brands and in particular any preference of Barr vs. Osco? I want to get something that will work well and last a decent amount of time in salt water.

I can get a complete set of Barr brand for about $660, which is a good deal as a GLM set is about $610.

Thanks in advance.

Barr castings were very good and accurate, but the gaskets packaged with it, absolutly suck canal water!!

I wouldn't buy GLM - heard some horror stories. I run sierras without a problem, barr is good too. Whatever you do, make sure you get mercruiser riser gaskets. If not theres a good chance they will leak and let water back into your engine.

I've used both Barr and Osco - had good luck with both.
