exhaust manifold Sierra vs GLM?

I'm doing to 1 pc to 2 pc conversion.

I've found kits that are comparably priced.

One kit uses Sierra Manifolds...

One kit uses GLM Manifolds...

Is there a reason to by one over the other?

The boat will be freshwater only.

Ayuh,... I donno who makes the 1s for Sierra,...
But,...
I bought GLMs, 'n had to remachine the gasket surfaces to get 'em Flat, to stop the leaks...

Howdy,

I might be apt to get Sierra manifolds since they're available directly from NAPA. (Sierra is a regular Napa line for marine stuff)

There's more than a few people that have posted here on iBoats that their GLM manifolds/risers didn't initially seal well requiring either machining or replacement.

People on here with their nightmare stories spooked me away from GLM.. China makes crap anyway

NAPA is awesome.. If you gotta serria part number they can get it.. I drive my parts dude nuts with numbers he has never heard of and they have all came up..

I have twin 5.0 xl mercruisers .One with Osco manifolds and one with GLM.Cant say one is better than the other.I fresh water flush after each use in salt water.

I ordered the Sierra manifolds. I figure it'll easier to deal with if any issues do come up.

Plus the guy seems like a helleva nice guy.
