Today as I'm doing an oil change I went to top off the oil in my Mercruiser 7.4 and mistakenly grabbed the quart of Mercruiser 90 gear oil for my drive instead of the engine oil. As it started pouring into the funnel I saw it was blue and immediately stopped it, but I would say 1-2 oz made it in the engine. Do I need to pump everything out or is that small amount mixed with the new engine oil on my 7.4 not going to hurt anything?

It won't know if 1 or 2 ounces made it into the motor. Just run it.

Wont bother a thing. I knew a guy that would run 90 wt in his car, as it used so much oil, it helped. Just a couple ounces, the motor will never notice.

Ayuh,.... So dump in 4 qt.s of Motor oil, 'n fire it up to fill the filter,...
Then shut it down, 'n fill it to the Full Line on the dipstick,...

No Problem,....

Thanks everyone. I felt like it was probably fine, but wanted a 2nd opinion.

If your engine uses a flat tappet cam, the EP ingredients will be good for the cam lobes and faces of the lifters
