I see it clearly says SAE 30 on the engine cover for warm weather. But shouldn't it be 10w30. Not just strait 30 weight. I've only used strait 30 in a lawn mower

10-30 is a multi-season oil. Winter and summer. It behaves much like 10 weight oil when its cold and much like 30 weight when its hot.

The outboard sort of expects you to not use it much in cold weather.

What engine is this for? BTW, it's called viscosity not weight. No such thing as "weight" when describing motor oil.

I figure the ones I have, have been running 30 weight oil since 1985, so why change it differently now....
