2004 Volvo 4.3L GXI. Oil level was good. Running royal purple synthetic that has about 15 hours on it now. Total hours on engine is 104.

Took the boat to the lake to start it up and let it run for a few minutes. Oil pressure was about 45 on the dash and when I revved the engine to 3000 rpms it got up close to 80 (which is the max on my gauge).

Air temp was 60 degrees, water temp was 65. Is the high oil pressure reading due to the cold weather and cold engine? If I were to check it with a manual gauge, can someone direct me to where to attach the manual gauge? I did not take the boat off the trailer and only let it run for about 5-10 minutes.

Thanks in advance.

oil pressure port is to the port side of the distributor.

however I wouldnt worry about it. your dash gauge is merely a suggestion as they are never accurate.
