I still can't figure out why the edelbrock marine carbs don't have at least a PCV vacuum port. I would think marine engines would especially want a pcv installed. The air cutouts are all there! Here is how to fix the problem easy as 1 2 3!

1. With a 1/4" bit, drill from the bottom upwards until you intersect the perpendicular existing hole. There is a 1/4" existing indentation to place your bit so you don't have to guess.

2. Use a 21/64" bit or if you don't have one 5/16" will work. Drill from the front inwards to make the hole uniform until your bit bottoms out, use a light hand.

3. Thread the hole with a 1/8"NPT tap. Then screw in a 1/8"NPT to 3/8" hose barb fitting and you're done!

No marine carb has a vacuum port. it has to do with spark supression in event of a backfire.

the valve cover breathers go to the spark arrestor, there is no PVC valve on a boat.

That is why there is no vacuum port on your marine carb.

There is a reason that it is the way it is. Now it all needs to be fixed to make it marine again.

But they don't use PCVs. Even my EFI has the breather but it goes to the flame arrestor.

The Edelbrock Marine carb does come with a vacuum port I use it to run to my electric fuel pump to draw off any vapor in the event of pump fail.
