Switch Box 1979 Mercury 115 HP

Serial number is 5416647. I was doing a resistance test on the stator and did not take the wires of the switch box. I was getting continuity between the red and blue. I pulled the wires off and determined that the continuity was in the switch box. I tested the other box and it did not have continuity. 1. Should their be continuity between the red and blue post? 2. If not, could that cause weak spark on all six cylinders? Thanks in advance!

Yes but I have not found anything about red and blue on the switch box having continuity.

There is a diode between red and blue connections on box,it should read one way but not the other

OK I had continuity between the blue and red on one box both ways and no continuity either way on the other box. I have ordered the DVA so I can properly diagnose it.

Problem was a switch box so I replaced them both.
