I am trying to figure out why my pontoon will not go above 14 mph or 3800 rpm's. Runs smoothly other than that now. When I first bought it roughly 3 weeks ago it ran rough and would not stay started. I changed the fuel lines from the water separator to the engine to include the bulb. Changed spark plugs made sure they was gapped at .040. I also sprayed sea foam cleaner in the all 3 carbs and removed drain plugs and sprayed in there as well. It runs smoothly now starts right up and idles @ 1100 rpm's with no problems except that it will not go above 3800 - 4000 rpms for nothing. Any Ideas? I thought about rebuilding the carbs but the website shows the rebuild kit as obsolete and unavailable. Any assistance would be appreciated.
