Temp sensing wires would be tan or tan with a blue stripe and go from the engine back to the control box to ground one side of the alarm module. The tstat would be under a bulge (cover) on the rear of the block water jacket plate usually held on with a couple of screws , upper left on higher hp engines, or on the top rear of the block....just looks like something that doesn't belong.
