I am having possible fuel problems with my outboard. Every now and then it will run rough at idle speed and stall out. The other day after doing this it stalled out and would not start. Motor turned over like a champ but acted like it wasn't getting any fuel. We continued to fish for around an hour and then low and behold it started fine and ran fine even at full speed. I have changed the spark plugs and installed a new vacuum line on it ( purchased at a regular auto parts store). I have also run several tanks of gas through it this year. Not sure what would make it act this way sometimes and fine other times.

What vacuum line did you replace?

A weak fuel pump, air leak any where in the fuel line Including the connectors would be the first places to look. Then dirty carbs.
