What part would identify outboard?

Hi, Im struggling to find out my outboard year / hp to get some parts for it.

would there be someone on the outboard that i can look at the part number and hopefully back track to see what motors it was fitted to narrow down.
I was thinking if the prop might have something on it as almost every prop is different isnt it?

Do you have a local Mercury dealer. I guess you're in Australia or that part of the world.

Stuee, be patient. you would further ahead to post a pic. however in your other thread, it was recommended to stop by your local mercury dealer to identify the motor.

Also, it helps if you are talking 1-cylinder, 2-cylinders, 3, etc. 2-stroke vs 4-stroke, etc.

If you give me the number on the side of the carburettor I can tell you a year and hp. The number will look like WM-xx or K-xx. Or a few photos of the engine...
