mercury 50 outboard year

I just bought a sea nymph with a 50hp mercury outboard. It has brown stripes across the motor and the serial number reads a160199 I cannot find the year anywhere. Can someone help identify the year of my.motor thanks

Those brown stripes were only there in the 1984 / 85 model years.
