Idle Air Control valve & stalling issues on 2008 Mercury 50Hp 2 stroke outboard?

Could a sticky or faulty IAC valve be a potential reason for my 2008 Mercury 50hp outboard (2 stroke) stalling when in idle? The outboard performs fine when driving.
