aftermarket starter deal or junk

i have a 1985----35 hp merc 2 cyl model a904265 resourced and bought starter sab0083 arrowhead brand,looks the same but the 2 top mounting bolts will not thread.
too small of a hole, i believe thread size is the same and if i tap out it will hit the case of starter any one have this problem? tech support wants to send me another but will it fit? ps ----ive replaced this starter 8 yrs ago, burnt brushes off. no mount problem.

Exchange the starter. They may have the wrong one put in the box.

yea sounds right no numbers on starter--- thanks just needed convincing,.just want to fish, it stopped blowin
