Good Day All:
I have a 1988 xr4 150 we rebuilt the carbs after sitting for months. I get it to the water idles good a little high about 1000 rpms motor in the no wake zone for about 10 minutes then hit the open water About 3/4's open running at 3500 rpms moving across the water fine. I put it back into neutral and it idles again 1000=-1100 or so try to open it up again when it passes 1800 rpms it dies. All day I had to motor in 1200-1500 rpms to get back to the dock. Get it home removed and cleaned the carbs again reinstall them Idles high 1500 so I am worried now. Way did it go up so high. Also why would it run at 3500 rpms and then just stop. Thank you for your help
