Unknown year of Mariner motor, Can't find on the internet.

I bought a boat with a 40 hp Mariner motor on it. I have looked everywhere on the internet for the year. I have called a few boat shops around town. It Model is 40ELO, Code 6F9 L, and Serial number 425245. I know that has twin carbs and oil injection. If somebody can let me know what year it is that would be great.

For your parts catalog, just google search the (1987 7040717 Mariner Outboard Parts) and it will come up under an iboats competitor name that will not link here.

Is it probably a 6E9 longshaft? then it matches with twin carb and oil injection

My mistake it is a 40ELO, Code 6E9 L, and Serial number 425245. I was told that it was a 94 or 95 model.
