controles , wiring 4 stroke verse 2 stroke will every thing work?

Have a 1995 mercury 2 stroke 40 HP.engine on a 20 ft. pontoon boat I just bought. Am wanting to take a 2003 mercury 4 stroke 60 HP. motor on my old boat and put in place of the 95 mercury 2 stroke. Question is: will the wiring, cables and stearing, exec. from 40 hp .Can I just unhook every thing that was on the 2 stroke 40hp? remove that engine? Install the 4 stroke 60HP and hook everything back up?Will every thing be compatible?

Wiring diagrams for both motors will tell you any differences in wiring. I would not expect too many differences, maybe just the main plug on the motor. The steering and control cables should work w/o an issue. The fuel line should be easy to adapt, if even necessary.
