I recently bought a new or new to me anyway boat that has a 75hp Mercury outboard that I want to de-card. I live in Colorado and our boating season is just about over. I am wondering if this is something that should be done before winterizing or in spring?

You may de-carbon anytime. You need to be able to run the motor on the water at high speed to get the residual de-carbonizing chemicals out of it, before putting it away for the winter. Spring is a good time as well.

When to de carb your engine???

Do it on Sunday, that's when I'm doing my engines.

One less thing to worry about come spring time. Make sure to have a good oil fogging before your put it to bed for the winter.

Thank you very much. I will give it a go before my lake closes at the end of the month.
